Who is CK?

Whoisck Who is CK? CK is Christina Kerley.

Everyone has called me "CK" since I can remember. (I didn't start it by any means.) So instead of fighting it, I built a brand around it. What kind of marketer would I be if I didn't listen to my markets?

And if we're talking marketing, we're talking my passion...

My Passion: I'm particularly passionate about (1) Ideas + (2) Programs + (3) People. Put those together--or retain me to put those three together--and you've got an epiphany (or two). I see the marketing potential (and opportunities) in most everything. Which brings me to my focus…

My Focus: Creating value for the companies I work for and even more value for their customers and clients. After all, value creation is marketing's entire reason-for-being (and anyone who tells you differently is singing you a song). Which leads me to my value…

My Value: Others often remark on my smarts, creativity and energy (read for yourself what others say right here). I excel at developing clever ideas and programs that engage people around businesses, brands or causes. My services fall into five areas of strategy & planning; program development; social media; writing and speaking. And that leads me to my biz…

My Biz: In '99, I formed my consultancy, ckEpiphany, where I  work in industries of all stripes and flavors, but mainly focus on technology, professional services and media. I'm NYC-based but my work brings me to major metro areas on—and between—both coasts (and I'm up for hopping to other continents, too).

Scribes & Speeches: I write and speak for business audiences, including panels and lectures at the American Marketing Association, Sun Microsystems' Startup Camp, the University of Connecticut, Stony Brook University and Fordham University. On the writing front, I love blogging (duh!) and in addition to blogging here I have the honor of blogging with the smart marketers at the MarketingProfs "Daily Fix" blog and over at TalentZoo.

Oh, you came here seeking advice? Why I've plenty of that...

  • Best advice for marketers? Listen to your markets, it's amazing what they'll teach you (if you let them).
  • Best advice for bloggers? Don't focus on how well your blog is ranked, focus on the relationships you make through blogging. Rankings come and go, but relationships evolve into colleagues and friends (if you treat them with respect and care).
  • Best value of blogging? Find out the value that myself--and many other marketers--receive through social media in a really cool (!) collage right here (yes it really is cool and worth your time to check out).
  • All that and you just wanted fun stuff? I aim to please...

Stuff I find fun: Reading, film, friends, live theatre, traveling, animals (but zoos make me sorta sad), outdoor concerts, cooking, good clean debates and dirty martinis (though I don't suggest debating after drinking dirty martinis).

Mousekateerck_shot1_white_3 Oh, you wanted a funny picture....

Here's a funny pic of me wearing a "marketeer" hat (instead of "mousekateer" hat, get it?). Yep, a colleague and blog reader of mine got it for me because I made a bet with him. And a promise is a promise. (Though the pigtails and bows were my my fashion sense entirely.)

While this marketer takes her work, best practices and socially responsible marketing very seriously...she leaves that at the office and prefers to take life far less so. It keeps her young and enjoyable to be around.
