Lowering Risk, Rants That Are Really Big Favors and Speaking Like People...Not Like Marketers
Back in September I was honored to be invited to present on branding and social media (2 sessions) at Small Business Marketing Unleashed, aka "SBMU" in Columbus, Ohio. A terrific conference and group indeed and, in the course of the activities, I was interviewed by WebProNews.
The reporter asked me some terrific questions about social media of which I hope my feedback will help you, mainly because I was able to hit on some key benefits of how:
- tapping social media actually lowers risk (vs. increases it)
- "bad" feedback can be good... even equate to your customers doing you a favor. (I've blogged about how "bad can be good" here).
- social media is helpful because often we marketers--inside our comfy marketing bubbles--think we're hitting on just the right message, only to find our customers don't understand what we're trying to say. (I've blogged about buzzword bingo here)
The video below runs at 5 minutes--please click through to the blog to view if you're receiving this via RSS feeds or via email subscription. Hope you find a gem (or two!) in there.
You ALWAYS look and sound so natural, confident and comfortable on camera. Oh... and smart too.
