Gettin' Shouty in NYC

Dsc00513crop_1I had the pleasure of meeting up with Get Shouty's Katie Chatfield last Thursday here in NYC. Or, as I now like to call her, "Ka-ka-ka-katie" (if you've ever seen "The Way We Were" you'd get that).

What do I dig about Miss Shouty? She's light-hearted and fun but truly impassioned. She's smart in marketing (duh) but equally so in life. She's an Aussie--actually an 8th-generation New Zealander, who's traveled and lived all over...so she opens me up to how the other 97% live. We Americans are but a wee part of the big picture. I know I've much to learn. So it's a good thing I have great people to teach me.

And yes, she is a beauty (as the pics prove) and has a GREAT accent. I just can't imagine a flat American accent sounds nearly as good. That girl is certainly unpredictable...

Dsc00506Katie was living in Chicago for the last 3 weeks (actually 2 weeks as she's been in NYC for the last week), but Australia missed her too much so she'll be heading back there soon. I'll let her fill you in as by the time this is published she's likely decided to go live in China again.

If you've not yet been to Katie's blog, here's a great chance. If you have, do like me and meet her in person. Dsc00499 Thanks for making my week Shouty.

P.S.: This is Katie's apple martini. (well, one of them). I remarked on how perfectly she ate her garnish. She said she was taking a bite out of the big apple. So then I just had to get a pic of it--good call, right?

Great pics of both of you, but I think we need pics of New York now because I'm sure you two turned the city upside down! Sorry I missed the fun but thanks for including me on the 'phone-call tour' ;)

What a couple of hotties!

Glad I got a chance to talk to you both. And I'm also glad you two are still alive after your evening of debauchery. :)

It certainly was great to talk to you both. But I am with Mack ... is NYC ok?

Gav, Mack, Paul: Great to speak with you guys, too. NYC is fine but sure misses Shouty. It was truly a night (and morning) of great fun ;-).

ouch-fantastic to have a swellegant evening with CK and to get to talk to all you chaps in one booze fuelled extravaganza.
I'm still processing our eight hour conversational foray and look forward to finally getting my head straight enough (probably after I cross a couple more datelines) to share.

I'm SO bummed I missed that call! It was great to hear both voices in one great phone message though. I really truly wish I'd not missed the call.

Glad to see Katie is able to find her way around the blogosphere still after an evening with CK. I'm sure lesser women would have fallen by the wayside.

Something tells me there is a trail of broken hearts across the city. Just guessing...

Hey CK,

Woops, a bit lat on this one. ; )

Bloggers who meet is always a nice perspective. I am pleased to discover Katie's blog thanks to your post. Yes... we have so much to learn and yes there are so many people to teach us. You are definitely in my list. Now Katie is, thanks to you.

PS : I love the Martini apple detail you pointed out. Most people would have not noticed. You did.
